Mater and the Entire Crew!

Our sweet cakes had himself an adorable little 2nd birthday party with the family, complete with lightning McQueen decor galore!
Despite the fact that he's been randomly sick for the past week he was a trooper for his birthday party and seeing all his favorite people made him one happy camper.
I will admit that when I ordered these cake pops I had something different in mind...  had bought a tiered stand for them and thought they would be standing up. I think we improvised quite nicely, and they ended up working out just fine.. the best part is that not only did they look adorable, but they were yum! It was a nice tasty change up from just a cake.

... and Kellen and the crew seemed to enjoy them so that's all that matters. K blew out his candle in the first few words of his birthday song.. guess he was eager to get to that chocolate!
He loves all of his bff's(cousins) and was more then happy to let them join in on his gift opening. I'm not sure if its the age or the child or what, but he is always such a great gift opener. has adorable expressions of excitement and lets everyone know he is pleased with what they have gotten him. This pleases his momma so.. I wonder how long the peaceful bliss will last ?? sigh

He doesn't understand 'money' or even care what it is, but he looooves dropping those coins down in his bank and gets so excited when we hand him change. He holds it close and runs to his room. Knows exactly where it goes.  His PawPaw Davis sent him $20 so he gladly folded it up for his bank. We all emptied our wallets to give this baby every penny we could muster!
                                                                    --------------------------

We are so blessed to get to spend all day with the birthday boy. Took him shopping and told him he could pick out any toy he wanted. He looked over all the toys in several toy stores, picked them up and then put them back.. He didn't feel that great on his big day, but hes also not a greedy kid. He ended up with one little mail truck and a Dr. Seuss book, 'Green Eggs and Ham.' Sweet baby boy!
He even had a little time on the morning of his birthday to get some 'thank you' pictures for his family for all his great great gifts.

-----
The two year milestone.
He thinks its funny to not want to get dressed when its time to go somewhere, which is the case in this picture above.
Like I've said before, he doesn't pronounce 'f''s . yesterday we were playing and he looked down at his finger and said 'oh noo, i hurt my singer'          :)
Here's the 4-1-1 on whats hot cakes at our house right now:
the movies 'Despicable Me,' Toy Story 3', and 'Tangled', and of course Cars, that's a given...
gummies, batman, wii remotes, wrestling, dancing to the singing sock monkey, jumping off chairs,
washing hands, brushing teeth, putting on socks, wearing ALL of our clothes and shoes, fridge ABC's, coloring at the table, his indoor tent, and gallons and gallons of chocolate milk!

3rd Anniversary Day

The time stamp on the picture above says what I'm thinking as I type.. It has been several years now since we first journeyed off to Negril together, but it was an amazing trip that I will hold near to my heart forever.. its also just one of MANY fun adventures that we've experienced together and as long as its God's will, we will venture through thousands more.
We have an ongoing joke together that started very early in our dating days, that involves Jon suckering me into the deal that we'd stay married for 50+ years. At differenty points in our lives hes actually had the number of DAYS weve been together and how long we have to go.. (when the man you love cares enough to know facts like that it is a pretty awesome feeling by the way.)
Anyways, he still teases me about this.. yesterday he said 'well, 3 down, 47 more to go. you'll be like 79 when the deals off. wonder what kind of options you'll have?'
I laughed and said 'I like to keep my options open'
50+ Dubya... 50+.... rain, sun or shine!
Cant wait to get back to a baseball game or be at the top of a ski lift..

Jon loves his hogs and I have come around to enjoying football season as well. I will go to ANY game with you baby as long as we have 'good seats'. :)

Our lives are not perfect but they are perfect for us. We are blessed beyond measure.
I love you Dubya.
After all, you helped give me 2 of the greatest gifts EVER.. your devoted love is one, and the other is our incredible son.  I looooove my Davis boys.
Happy 3rd anniversary.

23 Month Milestone.. how can this be SO!

23 month milestone
So we're less than a month away from being TWO years old... He has Jon and I laughing non stop with his sense of humor and quirkiness. The other day we got in the car and started down the road and he says. "where ya goin? you goin to mimi's house?" and we said 'no, not mimi's.. so he says, 'you goin to da stooore ?' He has a little bit of a drawled out twang when he talks.. cant imagine WHERE hes picking that up from?! :)
Like I said, his quirks are all still in place. The next few pictures are an example of one of his many.. We play with the good old fashion alphabet fridge magnets on a weekly basis. He loves to spell out names and learn letters. There are 3 - O's in the bag of letters and EVERY time he takes the three O's and puts them together as you see below..

If I spell out a word and use one of the o's he will immediately remove it and put it back up with the other 2 o's.. He can be out of the room and i'll move one of the o's just to see what he does.. and without fail he will spot it immediately and put it back in its row. just one of the many random things that make him our kellen!

He isn't all about one toy. It definitely changes every day as to what toy is the pick of the day. With an older brother that has tons of small Lego pieces, he learned from early on (probably too early) that they dont go in his mouth or he cant play with them. So having mastered this, he now plays with Lego's almost every day.
I have found that its pretty much impossible to keep him out of jaxson's room and toys. We try to put any of the toys jaxson deems 'sacred' up on the shelves in his closet, but as for the rest of them they are fair game to the little boy that lives in the house 24 hours a day. (sorry jax)
His sense of humor is fun.. Jon has him thinking theres a gorilla that lives in the back of our house so he will pretend and play along. He'll make a gorilla noise and then get this hilarious 'spooked' face and say, 'whats that ?!. and then yell out to the gorilla. 'you hear me goriya?' haha
My heart is mush for this child of mine.
In the spirit of his second birthday quickly approaching,
Take a little stroll with me down picture memory lane here....

Below is the day he first rolled over .. we were at Mimi's house and I just happened to have the camera with me that day.
The next one is probably my favorite snapshot ever.. as a momma there just are no words. sigh

If I'm ever having a frumpy day I can track these pictures down and within seconds I am smiling and feeling better. instant med pics! Just a random day we decided to take some random pictures and he just randomly decided to stick his tongue out in every picture. Maybe he was catching the guitar vibe on his shirt. rockin out! who knows. just one of the MANY things about him that make him our one and only Kellen.

..... and here he is now. at 23.5 months old!
He loves to 'hide' under his blankie and covers. Hide n seek is a classic that is a hit. He counts and says 'oooone, twoooo, here come, eddy ohr not!'  :)
While staying at mimi's the other day he got to learn letters and sing songs with the preschool kiddos. One of their song choices of the day was 'if you re happy and you know it' .. so the below picture is what he does during the 'face will surely show it' part of the song. a small side note: he looks soooo much like me in my baby pictures here.

With the help of a tasty orange sucker and his daddy, we ventured out on a chilly afternoon and got some great scrapbook snapshots. Love my sweet family.
