' In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.' Proverbs 3:6

Simply the most wondeful time of the year folks.

Listen, I will be the first to admit that our trees have
been up since Halloween was over..
I do hear and get the complaints of this, but yet
I don't care!
it is not huge or boastful or elaborate in anyway; yet
this thing is one of the most beautiful things I have
ever seen and I cherish the moments where we
are home together, with the lights on the tree and
get to enjoy the simple things in life like
admiring our gorgeous tree!
Here are some the 2013 additions to our old green...

...and the boys tree needed some love this year as well.
These first two are treats from Gramma.

...and these were picture framed ornaments she gave
me that she didn't want, so I added some sweetness

This picture of Jon and Jaxson is one of the first pictures
I took of them together. It was at Tyson Complex park
on one of our first couple of outings together.
I remember a lot from the day and how sweet Jaxson was and
how much we were starting to bond and become buddies.
It's a special picture to me.
----
Jon asked me to pick up some shoes he had ordered
at the Fayetteville mall last week and while there
we walked by Santa and K was basically like , uhhh,
theres santa momma, when can I see him?'
He waved and smiled and was so ready to visit with him, so
we undoubtedly had to get this boy to see the jolly man!
And indeed we did. Right before walking in to see him though,
he spilt his sprite in his lap in the car. so needless to say,
it looked like he pee'd his pants!
I took this one with my phone and it isn't as noticeable, but the
cheapos that we bought it literally looks like he drenched himself in pee.
boo.
owell, the point is that he got to see Santa. and all this sweet boy asked for this year is a guitar. He wants a guitar.. Rest assured this little Austin Moon rocker will have
him one fine guitar Christmas morning!
and this wasn't a production of any sort.. he wore these pj's and I told him to
set in front of the tree and we'll get your picture real quick and he snagged the hat
and hammed it up. This is what I call a scrapbook goody!
------
And these annual pictures of Gramma and the five are scrapbook goodies
as well. We get tons of pictures of them all, and they are never
smiling or cooperating or behaving.. ha.. and Gramma loves them and
scrapbooks them all. It is hilarious to look back through
them over time and laugh at their individuality and silliness.
I have laughed several times already at this next one
with Brody bent over in his hat.. LOL
The did better this year than most others on the smiling
n 'sync.. Still a hoot though. and I think if Caden
doesn't forbid that we do this next year
due to his age, ill be calling Dana so we can
coordinate some outfits!
ha
love these snapshots and love these boys!
-----
The Davis boys got to see Santa together and they each asked
for what they wanted. K was still all about that guitar.
Jaxson asked for an ipad, which I believe he
is getting at his Mom's house this year.
Hopefully Santa will pull through for both of them :)

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving.

I about forgot to include Thanksgiving. The day we
are supposed to reflect on all of our many blessings
and it is almost always the day I am so quick to
forget.  (shaking my head) shame shame
I like to think that it is because I
feel blessed and thankful for what
God has given us every day.
I don't just use the one day to thank God
for such a rich simple life, but start
out daily prayers with thank you's.
With all the 'wants' in this life
it seems like most are so quick to
overlook what they already have.
We are rich beyond measure and it has
absolutely nothing to do with money.
I managed to get a phone pic out of these monkeys
while over at Mimi's house on Thanksgiving day..
and then later that evening at home,
we were playing around and they had buried Jon
in the covers and piled up on top of him.
They were giggling so hard thinking it was
soooo hilarious that they had sat on top of
him for the picture.
... and they decided to let him up for the next one.
Boyz!
Thank you God for loving us and for sending your son
to die on the cross for our sins. Thank you for meeting our
needs on a daily basis. Thank you for humble
hearts and we strive to serve others more so than
ourselves and we pray that we can teach this
to Kellen and help Jaxson realize it as well.
Thank you thank you thank you !

Summin up the Snow

The very first night it snowed we could hardly contain ourselves and opted to 'slide'
over to the nearby school in the dark and sled down the hill.
Kellen LOVED it.
It was awesome showing our almost four year old how
much fun you can have in the snow.

This is how I found him the following morning.
lol
He was 'dressed' and ready to go play in the snow!

Snow angels were great, but the snow was about too fluffy
to build snowmen and igloos. Jon managed to get this
one made.. We should have named him Whopper.
His eyes are whoppers and his nose is a mike n ike.

...and this was a day that k and I went out to play
while Jon was at work.

Jon had showed him he could eat the snow, so he of course
was having a few scoops while he played.
We built a ramp for his sled, which was awesome. but too hard to hold an
expensive camera in one hand and make sure the kiddo got safely down the ramp
at the same time. so no footage of that one.
we broke out the dune racer for some off roadin!

For several days this is what we did. K would paint and I would scrapbook
at the table beside him. We'd venture outside to play, but for the most part
we enjoyed being indoors where it was warm.
I am spoiled to the fact that I get to stay home with him,
a lot of my love for snow is the part where you wear comfy clothes, sip a hot beverage
and watch it from the comfort of your own home.
I do feel for those that had to venture out every day in it and
head to work. no bueno :(
but on a brighter note, he had a great time building forts and
bringing every toy he owns to the living room to share the covers with
him :)
We attempted to sled at the Fish Hatchery one day..
attempt is a strong word, we were there for 10 minutes total
and then were all headed to our cars and complaining
that it was too cold.  (IT WAS)

and this next picture makes me laugh. Jon's feet would dig
in the snow at the bottom of the hill and it was throwing
the snow up in K's face and he did NOT
appreciate it much. ha
This didn't happen at the other sledding location
so he decided he liked it much better.
After Jon had to help a group of guys get a lady's
car out of the ditch, slipping and sliding around and the
drive-by to the hatchery, we opted to head to the
Paul's house to play.
Aunt Dana offered to work on gingerbread houses.
This was Kellen's first time to do this, so I
of course wanted to drag out the camera.
:)
Brody and Kellen were too funny during this entire thing.
Kellen was trying to listen and do what the big boys
were doing, and Brody.. well all Brody was trying to
do is eat his doors and windows to his gingerbread
house!
Everyone was working on their pieces and Brody was
just chomping away!
It was pure entertainment to his Aunt Jen!

They both managed to salvage a few pieces and
get them to stick long enough to add candy, get
a picture and then eat it!
Which is all they really wanted to do anyways :)
Kellen's first gingerbread house.
Have yourself a snowy little Christmas!
It could happen

Oh Christmas Card Oh Christmas Card

Oh Christmas card oh Christmas card...
Oh how much I loveth thee!
For several years now I love sending and receiving personalized
Christmas cards.
With Fall months being my busy time for work, it was
pretty much impossible to find a time frame that
worked to get family pictures of our own done
while Jaxson was here, weather, etc etc..
so we improvised and I've got to say
it is my favorite card yet!
Though my boys were more interested in watching Harry
Potter that was on while we were trying to shoot these,
they did give me some fun faces and some great shots.
Very pleased with the final result. Here is some of the
goodness :)

Jaxson was actually the most participant for these.
The beats and ribbon were his idea, so I just
went with it. :)
...and bless his heart, my handsome husband
was sitting in our kitchen floor with a pink bedazzled
hat on and trying to make this work.. ha
Black and white solved the problem babe!
I wont tell anyone if you won't
:)

Kellen was not feeling this session at all, which is
ironic considering he ended up with the most
good pictures.. go figure.
Jaxson helped me out a lot in these.
In fact he is the one that started piling the
glasses up on Kellen and trying hard
to get him to smile and have fun.
and it worked.
Thank you Jaxson :)

... Last years Christmas card only had the boys on it
and I had several text messages telling me that
it was not acceptable to not be on the card! ha
So here you go!
It was a shutterfly card, not exactly this one but
you get the idea of what it looks like.
Deck the Halls!
Merry Christmas from the Davis family.
Hope your holiday is merry and bright.
