yes, oh yes yess.. 22 month milestone

TODAY this little tyke is 22 months old...wowza!
He loves to be outside so much that we are bundling him up and battling the freezing cold temps just to let him go outside for 15 minutes a day so he doesn't feel deprived!
There are too many things to even remember them all when I go to set down at this computer and write this... he loves Batman now and has added spider man to the list of recognizable caped crusaders... he has two batman play shirts and if he had it his way he would wear one of them around the clock 24 hours a day.. and has any ones kid been all about spoons?? we own 5 toddler spoons and he carries anywhere from 2-5 around with him everywhere like toys ??? the only thing we can guess is that he can chew on them because of the rubber ends.. who knows.. just one of his many many baby quirks that makes him Kellen!
and we just keep adding to the nightly routine we have.. like now he not only needs his 'blankie', he needs his blankie, 2 cars, at least 2 spoons, and George his monkey.. he doesn't throw a fit about it or anything, he just asks for all of it and says please and i figure sure, WHY NOT. (he's only a tad spoiled)
This of course is all after he asks to say his 'payers'. he bows his head and looks at me and I just about melt. He also gets very excited to say 'amen'. that part he has dowwwwwwn.
In the spirit of the month of December we decided his 22 month snapshots needed to be deck the halls and
oh so merry and bright. Not to mention he loves our holiday boxes. he rearranges them all under both of our trees and at any given time you could open one up and find a couple of hot wheels or spoons!

This is the smile that captivates my heart.. he laughs and smiles and plays and jokes around allll the time. Jon and I can get him to smile better then anyone else.. He looooves his momma and daddy!
His eyes are blue, but his green sweater and green tree are making them look green. my eyes do that also. they are green, but if I'm wearing blue they look blue.. yada yada.. he has great eyes to go with that kilowatt toothy grin!
The next one cracks me up.. I was trying to 'pose' him and tell him to prop his hands up on the box.. his expression pretty much tells you his thoughts on the matter.

He plays a lot with Lily and other kids over at my moms house almost every week. They have a little kid kitchen and play room and play all day and have a blast together. He has picked up some cute things from those couple of older kiddos.. He likes to make me coffee and cook me soup.. its unreal what this baby can whip up with a badder spoon, a coffee mug and a measuring cup! Yesterday he made me 'coggee' and 'onion soup' .. the best part about it is he has no idea what onions or soup even are.. lol  we have discovered that its the 'f's' that he is having a hard time pronouncing.. like with coffee, he says 'coggee'.. he calls fries 'stries' .. I love to hear him count, 'kellen count for momma'. he'll say ' ooooooone, twoooooo, treeeeeee, six'... maybe he decided the F-our and F-ive were too hard to pronounce so he'd just skip 'em!... :)  He is my precious boy.

ho ho ho.. off to see santa we go

Our two cuties, lookin sharp to see Santa.. This year is a 'get it done early' kind of holiday season for us apparently.. I've got christmas cards ordered and on the way, tree was up before thanksgiving, and we've now seen the big red and white dressed jolly man and its not even December yet!
As we waited for our cousins to get there, Kellen was high-fivin' Santa and telling him hi and wanting to go set in his chair.. but when it got down to the wire and it was his and jaxson's turn to actually go set on his lap, he wanted noooooo part of it. um, I think the picture here says it all.
i dont know if i should say poor kellen or poor santa!
and jax just smiled through it all , ha

The below are Gramma's yearly traditional fire place pics with her five grandboys. I remember thinking last year, 'wow, these are not good'.. and I think this years pics are worse! ha
The beauty of it is that the more realistic the pics are, the more Gramma loves them.
Well these are some pretty right-on snapshots of her wild baracuda crew of grandboys!

Kellen and his cousin Brody doing what they do best.. looking allll kinds of adorable. meanwhile, looking no where NEAR the camera lens.
May God bless your holidays with joy and happiness

It's that time of year.. family picture time!

Say, pickles and icecream!
we actually took these about a month ago. im just now getting around to posting them.. God is good and answered prayers, and I have been pretty busy this year, booked up with family portrait sessions and more.
I tell ya what, I sure do have three handsome fellas!
They could go all year without seeing a camera, but they take lots of pictures with a smile on their face because they love me and know it makes me happy :)
Jaxson and Jon are trained when it comes to pictures.
Kellen... not so much lol

The below picture is pretty accurate.

Jax and I always take sweet pictures. The below one reminds me of some that were taken at our wedding, so sweet. He loves his Jen :)
Handsome boy with some incredible, big ol almond shaped green eyes. This was before he lost his first tooth.

...and these were AFTER he lost his first tooth. still a cutie, just with a missing tooth in the front.. and per him he has another loose one about to come out

Posing around trees actually drives me crazy. ha but Jaxson was propped up posing for his senior pictures here, so Kellen decided when it was his turn he would mimick what Jaxson had done.

He is at the age where standing or dare I say sitting and smiling for a picture is NOT even a possibility.. I will say this kilowatt smile is infectious.

Cuteness mixed in with the bobbles of tree decor!

Yes yes yes.. I joined the 'jump the gun' band wagon and we had our Christmas tree up this year after Halloween. ridiculous i know.. but doesnt change the fact that I was overly eager to get the holiday season under way this year. Kids have a tendancy of making things like christmas a much bigger, brighter, better ordeal then it ever was before... I was curious to how Kellen would respond to the trees. He is a big helper and always wants to help me so he took right up with wanting to help us put the trees up and decorate! He loves them. in the mornings, he wants us to set down in front of the tree with our 'coggee' and set and point and talk about all the ornaments. i tell him they are so pretty and he repeats: 'pitty, so pitty momma' ... giggle.

Their boy tree in Jaxson's room has had a few new additions to it this year.. a train, a plane and the boys each picked out their own 2011 ornaments to add. Jaxson picked out a bowling ball with hanging bowling pins because he wants to keep a 'sports theme'.. ha .and Kellen picked out elmo! he points to it and says, 'melmo!!' They are loving the boy tree. I believe this will be a grand Davis family tradition! woot

My mom and I hit up hobby lobs and she helped me with the 'fluff' of a tree topper. love it. Like ive said several times, i've seen great great great trees already this year and previous, but ours is by far my favorite.. im partial!
Its fun that he shares my joy for these trees and holiday excitement. The bottom line is, its not about the trees or even the bobbles and gadgets that go on the ridiculous trees..not to me anyways. it represents us and the foundation of our family we are building and growing. Its exciting for me to think that years from now i'll look back on these pictures and be like wow, our tree was so bare compared to now.. all those years of collecting ornaments and christmas traditions and good times and family memories.. my mom did a great job of working with what she had to do the same for me as a kid...always making our holidays special and full of family and love and games, stress free with so many laughs... when did 'stress' even become a part of my daily life and for pete sake WHYYYY... I have a feeling my mom doesnt even know how much I appreciate her for things like great childhood holiday memories...sigh sigh sigh.
Quality family time is what we discussed in sunday school class this morning.. i love spending my quality time with this baby !

21 Month Milestone... Thankful Blessings

Turkey day was one of many thankful blessings for this girl... I went to write a blog that morning and was listening to the kids playing legos together at the kitchen table and couldnt help but sip my coffe and smile at the moment of peaceful family bliss... of course being that it was my crew, it was short lived and I was off the computer within minutes having to break up whatever disagreement they were having at the time.. Needless to say it was not a completed blog post! ha
Kellen is sailing through the one year of age thing like a gust of wind.
There is just too much cuteness.
The T zoo last week was a huge success for us, K loves animals and his expressions and excitement to see them all did not disappoint. He of course went ape over all the different monkeys and even thought the lizards were funny to watch.  The grizzly bear got right in his face and was breathing and fogging up the other side of the glass. Kellen said, 'oh wow' and staired back at him. When he saw the lion he kept telling him 'hi lion king'.. and of course he loved the train ride.. choo choo.
He has become good buds with the neighbors cat, 'Manny'. They each look for the other one when they're outside. Kellen walks over to the neighbors house and rings the door bell and bangs on the front door yelling 'maaaaaneeeee' .. luckily the lady works during the day and misses my child ringing her doorbell 20 times before I finally tell him Manny must be napping and we need to let him sleep. So then yesterday, I was out in the garage pilfering through Christmas decor and who strolls up our drive, none other then Manny, just a meowin himself into a frenzy.. and I had to tell him Kellen was inside nappin.. oh the irony.  :)

his smile is infectious.. its priceless to hear him tell people what animal noises each one makes. frogs say bibbit and ducks still say 'kak, kak' .. when i rock him at night he sings to me now.. 'rockin the baybee' rockin the baybee' there are just no words for how adorable it is. hes a sweet heart for sure. if he sees one of us has an owie he says 'oh nooo' and 'i sorry' and pats and hugs.. priceless i tell ya.

There are days his hair gets a little wild but for now were leaving it, we love it. i'm guessing everyone already knows this , but gummies and dum-dum suckers are handy to keep in the momma bag for times like shopping.. they have been a GREAT discovery in our case as our little 90 to nothing toddler will not set still in a shopping cart, and his good days of being kept in a stroller are numbered as well!
