The Brighter the GRANDer and a TMNT 3.5 Party is Something to Celebrate!

Well if it ain't Gramma and the 5 grand boys
for their traditional yearly pics.
The theme for this little set of goofy shots was
the brighter the GRANDer.
The boys actually did better this year than they have done in any years past. I'm guessing the growing up thing has something to do with it. Gramma
made this fun shirts and we suffered through this as usual.
again, please don't think these are meant to be of high professional quality.
they are just goofy fun pictures that Jon's mom loves to scrapbook.
I love them!

The next one is my very favorite.. In fact, if Brody's hands were down, this would be about as good as it gets with five little boys and a Gramma in one picture.
Kellen was doing what Brody is doing in the pictures before this, so Brody is copying him. Brody looooooves his cousin Kellen. It is the cutest thing how much he admires Kellen.
The problem is K thinks he is 6 or 7 years old and is one of the big boys. So he treats Brody like he is a baby. Poor Brody. I think someday soon K will come around to realizing that they are in fact the same age, and will be good buddies.. We'll see.
Jon's mom is an excellent 'scrapbooker' as I've mentioned many times.
Clearly I'm admittedly getting old and dorky, but I enjoy sipping coffee and looking through her scrapbooks.. and I don't care who knows! ha
It's fun to see someone Else's view/take on my pictures and its enjoyable to see my child and family in these nice elaborate albums. fun fun

And this picture of these three ponchos ... budz for life.
An inside laugh at throwing Kellen a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 3 and a half year old birthday party turned into something we did this past weekend. I guess you can turn any event into a party if you have some TMNT party décor!
Jaxson was having no part of celebrating Kellen's 3.5 birthday... so we started just calling it a Ninja Turtle party.. But Kellen was setting at the table looking over all the party decorations in anticipation and Jon was telling him its your 3 and a HALF birthday party.. and Kellen would smile and get so excited. and was like 'I wish it was my WHOLE birthday party.'.. I love this kid :)
We bbq'd some chicken and invited over the family. There were no gifts involved, but we did have all the décor complete with ninja masks, yummy cake, and goody bags. There are a few pictures on my phone or instagram or somewhere of the party décor. I smooth forgot to get any on my actual camera. Too busy enjoying the partaaay.
The boys had fun terrorizing my house and the yard. ha
and the adults shared some laughs as well.
fun party!

We took the boys to see Percy Jackson II this past weekend and the night before we rented the first one so we could all get caught up.  We're veggin' out watching the movie:
Jon: 'This is a pretty good movie.'
Jax: 'Yeah but its a little creepy.'
Kellen: "I like it creepy.'
lol
Brody and Kellen have a stay the night slumber party at their Gramma's house this next weekend. Brody will be in cousin heaven to have Kellen all to himself. Too cute
and whatever will Jon and I do ??!!

Cousin Brody Turns 3!

Recently had Brody's 3 year old milestone photo session. These are some of my favorites from the session though there were dozens. He is turning into quite the blued eyed little ham.. When you have a kid this cute that knows how to smile, smirk, and grin for a camera lens ??? look out!

Pool Haze, Summer Daze

Guess we'll call the flash that just went by... Summer.
In between the buckets of rain we did manage to get some golf and swimming in. There were lots of days at the pool that consisted of COLD water, gray clouds over us instead of sunshine, and the occasional mid-day sprinkles... but we did manage to make our pool membership worth it. Lots of evening swims consisting of big laughs. Memories made so that's all that really matters.
this next picture is a perfect example of the Summer funness of the pool mixed with the gray rain clouds. yet another example our bipolar Arkansas weather.

we even managed to make some new friends this summer. This little guy swam with us one day. I'm guessing he was taking a field trip from the course pond.. He stuck around for quite a while this day, he was either dazed by all the chlorine, traumatized by the boys laughing at him, or just really wanted to join in on the fun because it seemed like he might hop in our pool bag and try to hitch a ride home. This momma is pretty glad he didn't!

The golf course got to see quite a bit of us this Summer as well.
On non busy days or evenings the three (or 4) of us would snag a cart and enjoy some lessons.

Lots of Popsicles, back yard play time, pool, Chic-fil-a, Jump Zone, Fun City, play dates, reading books... Overall we've had an incredible Summer. Though I know domesticated housewife was not my calling in life exactly, I am enjoying the stay-at-home-momma part of the deal. Soaking up every second I possibly can of hanging with the coolest little guy I know!

Aquarium Kind of a day!

We ain't scared of no sharks!
I had heard mixed reviews about the Oklahoma Aquarium so when my mom asked if she could take us this week I expected it to be just an 'ok' place. PUN intended. wok wok
Jon and I both thought it was a great day, and not just because of the awesome company we were with, but also because the place was actually pretty cool.
Anywhere that has a tunnel I can walk through with numerous Bull Sharks swimming beside, up, and around me, can't be too bad!

The kids all watched the sea horses (my fave), sharks, turtles, sting rays.
Feeding the snapping turtles... If you hold the food up a little high, they will all snap their little mouths at it and climb all over each other to get to the food! a lot like humans do! ha
The ones up on the branches were the passive aggressive turtles apparently. Jon kept calling them the elderly and trying to feed them. but then they'd end up falling off the branches into the water so we'd feel bad.
Now the coral reef dive could have been a dud, but the dive girl was great.
She first fed the fish in the tank. zzzzz
but then she came back over and was insisting that we get pictures with her, so Brittany had her phone handy and got these lovely goodies.
As you can see in the next picture, Jaxson was more interested in looking at her than he was at being in the picture. In fact, based on the fact that he stared at her the entire time she was hanging out with us... someone was smitten!
We teased him about it later and he of course confessed.
ha

We were none too happy that Ashton had cheer practice all week and couldn't join us, but we did manage to have a great day without her! Even Zander had himself a wonderful time despite the 106 degree temps outside..yikes.
Love our family!

Colossal Coaster good times for all!

Colossal Coaster World 2013 VBS was a huge success as far as the Davis family is concerned. Jaxson and Kellen both got to go and they enjoyed every day and didn't complain once about having to go. That says a LOT :)
While I was there taking pictures all week, I did manage to see what K was up to a lot of the week. Being that this was his very FIRST classroom experience at VBS, with the bible stories and the music and crafts and snacks... I was excited to see him in action.
Jaxson's class was a little harder to keep up with, the older kids were on the move!
but I did manage to find him a few times as well.

Of course there were tons of pictures taken this week, and that included lots of familiar little faces of the kids from our church that I know.
Patience always makes me smile with her 'hey miss Jen' and her big ol smile.
and Lexi is the same, she is always smiling and content. I take their family pictures, so they are somewhat used to this.
This next one of Bayleigh cracks me up.. I had showed up a few minutes before and was trying to get a picture of her playing in the rocks and she wouldn't look at me.. so then I moved on to the slide and was taking pictures of another little boy.. so she gets up from the rocks and decides to go down the slide. and then gives me this look..lol
KIDZ
and in the next ones they were in the craft room and she wanted me to take her picture with her craft and asked to see it. so I showed her the picture from the camera and she smiled really big.. Kennedy walked over and wanted her picture taken also. She was like 'show me the picture of just me.' ha. I was like Kennedy, I haven't taken one of just you.. 'oh, can you take my picture then?' ha. HOOT
Colossal Karen was probably one of my favorite things about the theme and the morning pep rallies. She really did rock her part. Priceless

and Kellen and Cole both got the memo telling them to stick their tongues out while jumping hopscotch to get better traction.

Lots of kids, lots of ages, lots of laughs, lots of fun. I loved being able to walk around and enjoy little bits of all of it. If any parents or anyone from church needs access to the pictures, I can get them to you!
Overall excellent week!
