Here are some little goodies I didn't want to miss... He is a good sport when I take him for our
evening walks... keeping me entertained the entire time (as you can see).
When a baby is tired, he's tired! doesnt matter where or what seat!! ha
He LOVES his jumperoo.. I highly recommend one of these. His
leg muscles strengthened quick with this thing.. and he can jump and play. loves it!
(and sometimes when moms doing laundry in the other room for 5 minutes, this happens.)
:)

Inheriting those baby blues!!

There is close my eyes, shake my head, and smile with delight goodness in seeing my baby picture resemblance in my child...

However, he is his own person and my prayer is that he keeps that sweet nature. It's just fun to
see family resemblance... He didn't get those blue peepers from me though, or Jon. we both have
green/hazel eyes.. Blue eyes are on both sides though, and I mean BLUE eyes, so one way or another he inherited some baby blues!!

Sea World or Bust !! Mmmm Julio's !!

Jon and I took the boys on our first family of four vacation. Vacation, vacation… that just doesn’t feel like the right word to describe it, let’s think… I’ve taken several vacations. Many to the beach where I laid around and did nothing, some to shop at my leisure, and one to ski some slopes and then veg out in front of a fireplace with my sweetheart. Some were adventurous, most were a blast, and all were relaxing…The term vacation is loosely defined in several online outlets as the following: describes recreational travel, a short pleasure trip or possible journey abroad, going on a holiday or taking a leave... With that being said, Jon and I took our 5 year old and our 5 month old on a TRIP to San Antonio! There was no vacation about it! Ha Too far and too hot but still glad we went. Jon had promised Jaxson we’d take him to Sea World so we sure did. He enjoyed the shows. The killer whales put on a killer show, and Azul was a must see in entertainment value. Some birds, some whales, and some people danced and sang and flew around in all directions doing a well orchestrated jig. Entertainment indeed! The J’s road Atlantis, took the plunge, and was stoked to tell about it after… Meanwhile, the K and I sat back waiting on them trying to stay cool. Fortunately for me he is a hoot! Otherwise it would have been a snoozer Zzz  As always I couldn’t ask for a better baby… very low maintenance and easy going. Our hotel had a kid friendly pool. Kellen loved the multi-colored fountains spraying water in all directions. We bought him what we dawned the ‘convertible turtle’ and he sat up in it looking way too cute and half grown floating around in the water.

Since I’ve met Jon and we’ve had hundreds of hours at airports and beaches and overnight shifts at work and movie theatres and various locations to share information, he has told me about his baseball trip to Del Rio when he was 15 and how they were fed this AMAZING chips and salsa that you can apparently only get in the surrounding area. So from the time we booked this trip to San Antonio the plan was to stop at Wal-mart and pick up some of this delicious goodness. He knows I am a self proclaimed salsa fanatic. We’re talking pile the stuff up by the truckloads and shovel it MY WAY! Loooove me some salsa! We finally tracked it down at the local H-E-B store. The brand is Julio’s, and it didn’t disappoint. So so good. We have 4 containers of it in our fridge at this time and 2 more bags of chips. You can’t have any of mine, but I highly recommend if you are ever in the San Antonio area that you give it a try. YUM!

Also....  Jon decided to grow a garden a few
months back.. He read up a little about it, bought the seeds, designated a rectangle
on the side of the house and went for it. he waters it, watches it... when we came home from 'vacation' this is
what there was, already !!
MAD PROPS to my hubby for his harvest!!

Love me some cucumbers!!!
Love you babe

Rafting the Illinois... a family affair!

Gotta luuuuv the handy disposable camera when its river time!!

My sister -n-law, Dana, thinks it is important for all of us to spend quality time

together. She likes to plan things for all of us to do together as a family...

On one of her valiant attempts to get the family to spend the day

together, she decides a day at the river is just what we all need!

So in their suburban that seats 55, Chris drove us over to Arrowhead

for a day of rafting the Illinois river. (Gramma stayed behind to keep Kellen).

The day started good. Three boys watching the 'new' Mario Bros. movie I

had picked up for Jaxson's birthday.... Jon saw it and was like ' I think I

remember watching this when I was a kid.' Um, so he reads the back of the dvd...

1989 copyright! Woopsy. Fortunately the boys loved it and never knew any different !

On to rafting we went !! The day was sunny, sweaty, and perfect for the river. The river

however, had decided it was going to be off for the day and had completely come

to a halt. Very little movement whatsoever! So poor Jon and Chris got their work-outs

in paddling all day. About half way through our 12 mile jot I decided to grab the 3rd
paddle and help out if we ever planned to get home by dark!

The boys were oblivious to any work taking place... Caden is the oldest

and he was enjoying snorkeling the river every time we stopped

to swim. Jaxson is content doing just about anything with his cousins, and Reece...

well Reece could care less about being at the hot dirty river, he was just happy

there were plenty of snacks! Reece is usually good to go as long as plenty of

snacks and something to wash them down with is in arms reach :)

In the middle of all the paddling and sunburned skin Dana sighed and said,

well I just wanted us to do something fun as a family... and Jon replied

with, ' well now you can mark this off the list of things we have to do together.'

That may not be the exact words of what was said but you get the point. We all

got a pretty good laugh out of it :) It seemed 'plausible' after a long day of rafting

for us all to go to the first mexican restaurant we found on the way home and dig in!

Family rocks!
