Penny for your thought ? 45 life lessons

Received this on an email forward today... About 9 out of 9 and a half times I roll my eyes at email forwards and experience the notion of sticking my nose in the air and thinking im above reading that nonsense, ha.. but this was one of those that gets me.. For that brief moment I set quietly and read over each line and reflect back on whatever and wherever it was in the ol memory bank that makes me feel like I can directly relate to what this person is yappin about... As someone who struggles with anxiety and panick attacks I experience extreme highs and lows. I think just like everyone else, I can get so wrapped up in my own problems and issues that I forget to stop and realize how truly blessed and fortunate I am. Reading over things like this, even a quick swoop and delete should help a person realize that this too shall pass. to set back , take a deep breath, and relax. Life is primarily what you make it. it is indeed a gift...

This is something we should all read at least once a week!!!!! Please, make sure you read to the end!!!!!!
Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.
My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9.  Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Birthday Party Fit For a Princess!!

Our very own princess turned 3 on Sunday!!
Lily Grace, otherwise known as Fiona, Ariel, Jasmine, Tinkerbell...really
just depends on the day... had her birthday celebration in style.
As always she loaded up on clothes and toys, and Mimi got her some
fabulous rhinestone pink boots.. oh yes, they should be alll the rage if they arent
already!!
Her parents went to great lengths to surprise her with her
brand new set of hot pink wheels, a new escalade fully
loaded with rims and surround sound speakers.. it put all
of our suv's to shame.. ha
They pulled it around to the front and everyone went out side to
watch her get her surprise big gift... She walks out with a toy in hand, walks over
to the escalade, stairs at it, smirks, and then asks her mom if she can open
the toy thats in her hand... LOL
Typical, classic and PRICELESS Lily Grace fashion!!
I'm not sure if that means she isnt going to have expensive taste, or if its
just our Lilz going against the grain.. either way,
its always entertaining... Love my niece!

Parky Mcpark and the funky bunch!!

Oooh those parks, what fun what fun !
Jax conquered his fear of the obstacle course
and Kellen enjoyed his first trip to a park!
The look on his face as he watched Jax rip and roar and play
was that of , 'if i could just get these legs to do somethin,
i would soooo be following him down that slide!'

go on and let go daddy, i totally got this!!

Jaxson saying... 'fake a smile so she'll hurry up
and take the picture.' LOL

The 14th, (yesterday), was my man's bday. the big 2-9!!
His mom was nice enough to take us to Shoguns, one of his
favorite places for a sushi, chicken, and steak dinner.
Last year I didnt make him a cake for his bday and he ended up
not even getting one... he was oh so sad to not have a cake and let me know
about it... SO.... my vow to him is every birthday for the rest of his life
he will get a big ol cake!! and every year it might just get bigger and bigger.
This years was a double decker red velvet cake with the ReaL DeaL cream
cheese icing... even made some cupcakes for his coworkers on the side..
Every Year he will have a Cake !!
I love you Dubya!!!!

Baby Quirks: 7 months

7 months old!
How in the world can work weeks drag, yet weekends and
these baby monthly milestones can FLY by with a quickness!
How is that even possible ???
Our little guy weighed in at 19.1 lbs and 24 and some change inches long
at his doctors appointment Monday...
2 teeth , he uses to bite down on baby finger food and then spits it out and wants
another piece.
Not crawling juuuuust yet, but is completely mobile... gets to where
he needs to go by rolling around everywhere.
Rolls from one side of our king sized bed to the other, when I go to catch him
from rolling off the side he just laughs and looks so proud of what he's done.
A baby quirk of his is he looooves tags... boppy pillow, mirror, clothes, toys, etc
he will locate the tag on whatever it is and attempt to rip it off while chewing on it
simultaneously!
There's a pretty lengthy list of names of the person that could have taught him to
putter his lips and spit...(myself not excluded from the list.)...
this makes it exceptionally fun to feed him though, as the bright green peas go in,
they often spew right back out! So far the mess has been kept to a minimum
and the cuteness of him smiling and laughing wins out.
I have said from day one to all family members that I will be a strict parent
and he will act right... um, yeah, this is still my plan but so far he does what he wants!

He is so good for a camera... about every other picture i take
of him he smiles for me so bright and so big... but I love
these serious expressions also.. he gets down to business
when mom has the camera out!

Personality folks! heeee's got it !!

Loves hangin out with his momma!

Brittany's going away...

Well my niece Brittany, better known to me as Louisa Mandella the 43rd, decided to jump ship and move more south in Arkansas…  I would have preferred her move to New York or London or Napa Valley or somewhere fun I could visit, but whatever makes her happy. I was TEN when Brittany was born…The maid of honor in my wedding, there for me when I had Kellen… Brit’s been a huge part of my life for all my life.  She can sing and dance and act. She’s funny and spunky, kids love her and I swear she could talk to a door post and it would eventually laugh and start talking back. But just like I had to ultimately choose my own path for my future she has to do the same. I’m proud of her no matter what! One thing is for sure, Kellen has a variety list of cousins who all love and adore him. We love you Britty Louise!!

Fancy dudds, no more toothless grin, and 6a.m. Saturday humor with the Davis boys!

Our friend Stephanie Newman sent these fancy dudds with matching hat to us!
It says 'Reality TV Star in training' ... oh Lord I hope not! ha

6 and a half months old and his two bottom middle teeth are completely in !
Drools and chews and bites and grabs and pulls and toots and....did i mention drools??
And it is all priceless and I ADORE every moment of it!

This past Saturday was a good one.. Jon opened the door bright and early to check the weather
and Jaxson decided he wanted to go outside and play.
so we all went outside at 6a.m! I sat and drank my coffee
 watching the Davis boys...
Jon hit golf balls into the field, Jaxson climbed around on his obstacle course,
and Kellen set on the blanket and tried to eat the grass...
Peaceful redneck saturday morning!!
Jon hitting the golf balls into the field in front of our house has become a
favorite pass time of his... Every time he does this, it reminds me
of the time we were over in the field tracking down the balls and he found
a few in a row and said, 'Man, this is like Easter, only better because you get golf balls.' -JW
This time he hits one of the balls and it goes sailing
into the field and I hear him say, 'wow, I  just figured it out.'  as if hitting the ONE
golf ball had just taught him everything he needed to know about driving a ball. NEVER
fails to amuse me !!
Jaxson was also in comedic form this visit...While he was out pretending to check the mail, he
says, 'Jen, I think we need to buy us a cow so we can keep it in the back yard so we'll have milk.'
Jen says: Jaxson, I have no idea how to milk a cow so I'm thinking we better not.
His response: Oh Jen, its easy! you just reach up and grab one of its little
penises and the milk just comes out.' ......... speechless and laughing after hearing
his explanation.
:)
Being as how it was 6a.m. and almost September, there was a chill
in the air.. which in Jaxson's mind translated into 'It's winter out here!'
So he opted to wear a winter coat, insulated pants, and headed out the door
with flip flops!! KIDZ
