THREE Year Milestone...Yowza!

'you'd think I'd get a break from pictures on my birthday.'
Is probably what my son is thinking in the above image, but unfortunately I have a horrible memory that proves to get worse each year. It is pretty ridiculous at this point. And as a doting Mom with a growing kiddo, pictures aid in sparkin the ol memory bank. I'm not even kidding though, memory is no bueno :(
However, Kellen's turning three was VERY bueno and he had a wonderful day full of playing and hanging out with almost all of his favorite people. :)
----
These next few pictures make me giggle... He realizes that he is the only one 'dressed up' and that these pictures are allll about him, so he is not having it. This next one is his 'pout' walk...
...and next he's appeasing his mom with a grin... but not happy about it.. ha
So big brother to the rescue.. (a trick that works almost every time. wink)
Jaxson's turn! What is it about kids and competing or little kids wanting to do what the big kids do.. shrug, who cares, it works :)
Usually its dad, but this time brother helped out.. and we got some fun scrapbook pics for the ol THREE year milestone...and my child could not look anymore like my pictures at his age, other than he's a boy and much cuter. :)

Here we are singing happy birthday to him and he's clapping along.
He didn't care much that it was his birthday and he was getting presents, he just wanted a big boy cake 'like Reece' and wanted to go bowling with his family.
In fact his Gramma asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he told her he needed 'cups and plates and spoons and napkins'.. lol

...and riiiiiight about the spot that is hand is covering is about where my heart is for safe keeping.

PARTY TIME!
We mixed a monster theme with a bowling alley party; I mean afterall, monsters go bowling right ??
He patiently waited while Jon lit the tons of candles.. all three of them...
and we didn't even think to remind him to wait until the song was over before he blew them out.. we started singing and out went the candles. haha
giggle.
oops
So Jon lit them again and we had a round two for pictures sake!
giggle.

---
and this is a hoot.. I found these monster cookies on pinterest and gave them a whirl.. needless to say they didn't look identical to the ones in the pinterest pic!! lol
tasty nonetheless!

Lily had her hair hot rolled and it was cutie patootie!
my dad's hat on backwards was priceless.

this is one enthusiastic little bowler.

even Brody got to get in on the bowling action!

Thank you to our family and friends that came out to celebrate with us.
KNUCKLES for knocking down a pin or two!

Four Years Down...

FOUR years of marriage.. wow. The time-stamped day came and went with a quickness this year. I thought I had gotten a card for our anniversary, but couldn't find it, so as you can see by the picture above I improvised a little.
Jon's dad had given us a gift certificate to Ruth's Chris so we treated ourselves to the over priced buttery goodness.... I can try to pretend I am not a redneck southerner with no poise or class, but as soon as you set me at a table at a place like Ruthie's, I very much experience the aha moment of YEP, I am in fact out of place.
We have fun with it though. This was our second anniversary to celebrate there, and the place was just as butterlicious as the last time.
The important part is we had a wonderful anniversary, and we're both still happy with the decision to have been made a part of each other's forever.

My boys get to spend Fridays together and often come meet me for lunch.
For those of you that have not tried The Wooden Spoon yet, its a MUST.. absolute must.
We did not set out to get cookie modeling pictures of my kiddo on this day, but that's what we apparently ended up with.. ha.
I'll take it

All these are doing is reminding me that I need to scrapbook.
hours in a day, where are you ?
sigh
