The months are flying by.. the 18 month milestone breezed by on what I believe is the hottest summer I can ever remember. The temps being over 100 most days has posed an obstacle for me, as setting under a hot sun is not my idea of a good time. Unless I'm on the beach with a cold drink in my hand I am not a fan!
I am a fall girl at heart. mmmmmm fall... beautiful colored leaves, cool breezes, pumpkin patch festivities, Halloween parties (CANDY), and lots and lots sweaters.. LOVE fall. This is one of those years that it can not get here quick enough!
Time may be marching on in monthly increments, but I can still say they are loaded with lots of 'news' for Kellen. Did you know ducks say 'kak, kak' ?!
He has developed a love for the movie 'Cars', and one of his many formed Kellenese sentences is 'I wan Keen'. That translates to 'I wanna watch lightning mcqueen'. And during the part where McQueen is trying to find his 18 wheeler Mack, Kellen is also intensely searching.. He yells 'MAK, MAK'
I am pleased with his use of the word 'peaz'. He knows to ask 'peaz' for things and this makes me very happy. If he wants me to get something or do something, he'll walk over to me, grab my hand and say, 'walk,peaz'.. 'walk, walk' ... and he'll lead me to wherever it is he is thinking I should go. precious
He wants 'mulk' to drink most of the time, but he will still drink a lot of water. and he makes the gulp sigh noise after taking drinks, priceless.. This is that age where practically everything is priceless and melts your heart. I love that he loves books and is so sweet to people. If he hears the garage door open he'll say 'daddy' and run to the door to greet him. He's very happy go lucky and fusses very little. Still can throw a ball across the room like a grown kid. He knows cameras and if I say smile, he gives me a quirky scrunched up face that makes me laugh every time. He knows he can make Jon and I laugh so he does silly things all the time. FULL of personality and humor, love love lovin it! Below is a prime example of what he thinks is his 'smile'. Jon decided to join him in this one.
Jon steps up to the plate as a dad and knocks the baseball completely outta the park.. Parenting is one of the things in life none of us (meaning ME) are ready for when we have kids, but we learn as we go. I am so proud of him, and when I see him play and love his kids I am so proud to be married to him. Good dads are hard to come by in this wacky world, and Jaxson and Kellen are blessed kiddos.
The Davis boys... what a crew!
