Well a LATE 19 month milestone post is better than none at all...
The gloomy (but appreciated) rainy weather plus about a 10 day sicker -than- a- dog stint resulted in a few things being delayed.
I ran by the dollar store last week in an effort to pick up a few last minute things for Jon's birthday. Now, I know everyone and their sisters best friend have over used the 'lollipop' pics with kids, but when I randomly found it in the dollar store I thought what the heck!
He didnt skip a beat.. As soon as Jon handed him the sucker he was loving it. A perfect prop to get a wild baracuda toddler to set still for a picture :)
However, when it was time to be done with pics he certainly didnt think he was done enjoying his candy! As you can see it got a little messy.. or 'it's stiicky' as he said himself. 19 months old and this baby amazes me every single day.. We are without a doubt at the ridiculously adorable stage with him. We'll be in the living room playing or watching 'tee dee' and he'll just get up and go into the bathroom, get a kleenex out of the top drawer, walk out, wipe his nose with the kleenex, and then walk to the kitchen and open the pantry door and throw the kleenex in the trash.. and then come back to the living room and continue playing. ??whaaaaat?? Is he 19 months old or 11 ??!!
A few days ago he was still in his pj's for the morning, I changed his diaper, wrapped it up and set it over to the side of the bed (to throw away in a few minutes when finished.).. I said 'I think I'll go ahead and get you dressed, i'll be right back.' In the time it took me to go to his room to get his clothes, he got off the bed and went to the kitchen and threw his dirty diaper in the trash.. I was standing in the hall way as he came back around the corner from the kitchen and he said, 'shoo, its stinky' and then climbs back up on the bed so I can get him dressed......again, ???
Never a dull moment!
Jon and I have a lot of down time together right now to spend with him each week and its great... It's fun watching your child develop such a good relationship with his dad. He's a Momma's boy tried and true but with each passing day he is growing closer to his 'dadee'. Jaxson got here tonight for his weekend visit and we were all playing hide n seek... Jax was hiding under the toy table and Kellen was standing beside him. Jon and I walked in the room and Kellen says, 'wheres jak? I dun know!'
He's putting together new sentences every day at this point.. every HOUR
He calls Jaxson 'jak' most of the time. Jaxson has a poster in his room with him playing baseball and every time Kellen sees it he says, 'jak paying baeball'
Trucks are big right now for him... or 'tuukss' as he says with a very serious expression on his face.
Jon has been working out with a fury lately (as you might have noticed in recent pictures, hot-T).. anyways, he's got Kellen flexing and showing his muscles in the mirrors.. K's poses look more like karate chops but priceless all the same!
My dad, his POPS, took him 'driving' the other day in his truck and he is hooked.. Jon and I have let him 'drive' several times in the last few weeks... he says, 'I wanna dwive' and moves his fists like hes steering the wheel and does this wiggle dance all at the same time... omg, HOOT
A good dad with his kid is like nothing else... My dad, my brother, and my husband are the three best dads I know.
