FOUR - year old pictures of my monkey cakes!
As Juan Pablo the current
bachelor would say... ' I-yi-yi !'
Do you see the heart ?
Well if not, then just look past the clump of snow to the sweet
face and you'll find mine.
Our little guy has a February birthday and around
these parts that usually means there is a chance that
cold weather and possible snow will be involved.
and this year snow was for sure on the forecast!
We are fortunate to get to stay indoors
and be warm during most of it, and pick and choose
when we want to get out and play.
I have concluded that at least for this time in our lives,
we do not technically live in reality.. well, Jon does. He has
to venture out to work and pay bills and all of that fun crap..
but Kellen and I just kind of do our own little thing right now... and it, my friends,
is total bliss. sigh
Now I know it won't last forever. K will start preschool next year and then
Kindergarten after that, blah.. but for now, we are loving the
freedom to enjoy life the simple life.
:)
For 4-year old pictures we went with whatever we got.
Some of my favorites ended up being the
ones I snagged while he was enjoying his
warm- up cup of hot chocolate when
we got back inside.
-----
Our vision of umbrella and rain boots included
some water to look like rain. but again, its February
so we didn't push our luck.
Updated facts would include really liking the show
PawPatrol. He and his buddies like to watch this and
then play like they are the characters.
In our hallway we have an indoor basketball goal hooked over
the closet door. We play basketball games almost
daily right now. he'll say, 'let's shoot some hoops'
my personal favorite is 'slam-a-dunk'
:)
What started with a little Disney tri-puzzle set my
sister got him a while back has turned into a recent
hobby of putting puzzles together. We bought him
a few puzzles for his birthday, put them together and realized
the three of us had fun putting them together
so we've gotten a few fun ones.
Batman, Noah's Arc, and recently one that he picked
out that is of Chicago. He remembers our
trip there last year and asks to go back and when
we told him the puzzle was of Chicago he was all about
picking that one. He recognized a few of the land marks
that were on it as places we have been, including 'the bean'
and the museum.
Did I ever in a million years think I'd be home on Friday nights
putting puzzles together with the family?
No, but we are loving it.
The next three are signature Kellen faces.
It's like God decided to see just how much personality he
could put in one little nugget kid!
Priceless
On his actual birthday, his friends sang happy birthday to him
in Sunday School, we got to shop with Mimi
at Wal-mart for a few more treats.. It was a good day.
He told me several times throughout the day
that he was four now so he could do more things.
' I'm four now Momma, so I think I can go to the restroom at the
gas station by myself.' me: 'you think so do you.'
k: 'yeah... (thinking about it).. but where will you be, will you stand outside the
door and wait for me?'
:)
That night we were watching our nightly TV and vegging in bed and
talking and laughing and he got really quiet and was in deep thought...
me: 'What is wrong, what are you thinking about?'
him: 'Well I'm 4 now and I'm a big boy, but I didn't grow any today.'
me, holding back giggles : 'well baby, I think you grew all year long, I don't think
it happens in just one day.'
So the following morning I told Jon that he was very worried and didn't think he grew any.
So as soon as Jon saw him he said, ' Kellen, stand back a minute let me look at you.'
so Kellen did.
Jon tells him that he grew bigger and looks taller he must have grown overnight.
The satisfied smile on Kellen's face said it all.
:)
Love my Davis boys, love my simple life
Happy birthday to the coolest kid I've ever known.
